Proverbs as Affirmations

16 Jun

Many years ago I had said that it would be really nice if someone took all the positive comments in the bible and just made a book out of them. I had even thought of doing it myself. But then I read the verses at the end of Revelations that said some things about what would happen to anyone who added to or took away from those words. At the time, I got scared off.

Fast forward to 2008, I became braver. I made my first rewrite of Proverbs, I called it Affirmational Proverbs. I took three different bibles to get the general meaning/intent, and to the best of my prayerful ability, I re-wrote Proverbs into affirmations.  It was a start, but being an avid affirmation user, they still didn’t feel quite right.

Fast forward to 2009, I’m braver now than I was before. I’m rewriting Affirmational Proverbs into Proverbs as Affirmations. They are stronger now, more empowering.

As I started publishing them on Squidoo, I realized the bible as we know it has already been added to and taken away from. So, wow, in that sense, I’m not doing anything that hasn’t already been done, but I am making Proverbs into true affirmations.

There are 31 chapters in all, so there will be a continuing posting until I get all 31 days posted. As of this date, Chapters 1 through 7 are already posted. I hope you enjoy them and find them helpful. I know I do.

Your feedback and comments are welcome too. To start reading Proverbs as Affirmations, go to http://www.squidoo.com/Proverbs-as-Affirmations . I do have plans to also publish them in book form so that you  can carry them with you too.

Many blessings to you.

Appreciation Hour

22 Apr

What started out as an Affirmation Prayer Group has now become an Appreciation Hour. I think that was my original intent anyway. To feel appreciative, to be thankful, to have and increase, encourage good vibrations.

So we have done away with the asking part, not that anyone shouldn’t ask, but that part I’m leaving up to the individuals as to how, what, and when they ask. That’s all up to them.

What I like is the sharing, the creating, of something good. Either something we already have and/or something good that is yet to come. But in any case, it’s good. And that’s what I’m about creating more of.

So an Appreciation Hour actually suits the bill just fine.

For today’s Appreciation Hour, we drew in a circle the things we already have that we are greatful for, that we appreciate.

We then drew things we would like to have come into our lives.

We also drew the things that we wanted to release from our lives, and then ripped that part up and threw it away in the trash can.

We then finished on a positive note and wrote under the things that we already have and appreciate, their meaning to us.

Note that everyone did their own individual sheet and we also shared.

It was fun, it was light, we had fun.

We experienced appreciation.

Affirmation Prayer Group

17 Mar

Approximately six weeks ago I started an Affirmation Prayer Group. I had wanted to have a group that is positive. We meet weekly. We come together and share the things we are thankful for, and then in thanksgiving we give thanks to God for what we desire. Today, we noticed that we had a lot less to ask for than when we first started.
