Halloween Canvas Bags that Kids can Decorate

8 Aug

I love Halloween, even as an adult. As I kid, I got to dress up as a favorite character and/or as something I could just get really creative with, with whatever we had lying around at home. As an adult, I get to see the kids in the neighborhood dress up as their favorite characters, and/or whatever. Either way, I still enjoy it.

Another way that I’ve been enjoying Halloween these days, is by making Halloween designs that kids can have fun with. I’ve designed several Halloween Canvas Bags that kids can use as they are, or they can have some extra fun painting them in. Acrylic paint pens and markers are a convenient way to paint them in; there’s no brushes or water bowls needed.

One of the designs I made is three ghosts, who are either floating away, or just waiting for their faces to be added:

The scarecrow has a face, but is ready to have some colorful duds:

This cute cat is climbing out of a pumpkin:

My favorite though is the cat that is coming towards you:

Do you have a favorite?

May you have a happy Halloween and fun creative time with your kids too.

Camel outline, shirt

18 Dec

I decided to add some more outline designs that can be colored in. I initially went hunting through my photographs for a picture of a monkey. Instead, I found a camel, an elephant, and a rhinoceros. So far, I finished the camel.

I think coloring in designs are fun. As a kid, I used to color in pre-printed designs on table cloths. Today, I try to pass along that creativity to others.

Color in shirts also make a fun group and/or birthday party activity.

Did artist demo for paint in designs

18 Mar

This morning I attended a local Parent group called Parent’s Place. The youngest kids stay with their parents in the parent room, while the 18 month – 4 year olds do kids activities guided by teachers. This morning I was the guest speaker for the parent’s room.

Being an artist that also has a Zazzle store, I offered the parents design services that can be printed on a variety of products, as well as commissioned paintings on canvas and such.

Another thing that I offer is paintings that their kids can do. Starting with a basic outline design that I’ve uploaded to Zazzle and placed t-shirts and aprons, the parents can order them and their kids can paint them in, and also add their own creativity to the design, using paint pens.

Paint pens are easily handled and parents don’t have to purchase additional brushes. I recommend the paint pens that have fine to medium sized tips. The ultra fine tips may have a metal barrel for the paint to flow down onto the tip, and can cause blotches of paint to come out. So just make sure the tips have the felt tip all the way.

Markers can also be used; however the marker colors can bleed into the fabric a bit more. The paint pens tend to make a cleaner line. The paint pens can also be used to paint dots with. Pointillism is a fun technique for kids to paint with.

Additional design requests are welcome.
